Biography

Kelly grew up in the South East of England, and later she completed her degree and Masters in Fine Art in Scotland, after moving there with her four children.

Statement

I have been interested in different creative processes and which players are allowed within the production process and how this changes the quality of what is created. I have come to realise that this interest is probably (definitely!) born from having Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and trying to figure out my own inner landscape.

My paintings are a sometimes darkly humorous expression that brings my inner psychological space to the outer world. I love exploring what is ‘allowed’ or seen or culturally endorsed both personally and collectively. This sometimes reveals glimpses of structures that repress, hide and limit possibility, especially my own.
